PARISH COUNCIL

Meetings are held at 7pm, usually on the first Wednesday of every month except in August. The meeting scheduled for 14th September will now take place on 21st September to allow for mourning of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

WHAT IS A PARISH COUNCIL?

Individual councillor members contribute to the work of the Parish Council by suggesting ideas, engaging in constructive debate, responding to the needs and views of the community, representing their constituents, behaving in an ethical way and being open about interests, commenting on proposals to ensure the best outcome and voting - to enable the council to make decisions.

The chairman, assisted by the clerk, guides these activities by managing the meetings of the council. No individual councillor (including the chairman) can make a decision on behalf of the council.


Law determines what the council must do (its duties), what it can choose to do (its powers) and what it cannot do. See the Statutory Provisions.

Agendas are available through the link (click on 'AGENDAS') and on the Parish Council noticeboard (at the main bus stop) by 23:59pm on the Thursday prior to the meeting.

Draft Minutes are available through the title link & on the Parish Council noticeboard at the main bus stop. The Clerk aims to publish these within 10 working days of the meeting although the Standing Orders allow up to a month. Signed & dated minutes are held by the Clerk.
